The start of our journey began...
...in 1967 STE Credit Union when just a few ODOT employees wanted to make more money on their savings accounts and save money on their loans. The concept was simple: offer membership to ODOT employees and their families, pool their collective savings, deposit the money, and then make loans against those deposits. Because the philosophy was always to provide a value to its members and not to make money at the expense of the members, the credit union was able to pay higher dividend rates on deposits and charge lower interest rates on loans than most financial institutions.
While STE Credit Union has evolved over the years to include a multitude of financial products and services using the latest technology and an expanded membership base that now serves close to 9,000 members, the basic principles and foundation upon which the credit union was built remains the same – serving its members with personal, convenient service and saving our members money.
